1. What is a domain name?

Domain Name is the verbal equivalent of a numeric group that defines the identity of each computer, at the time it connects through a server to the internet.

2. What’s the difference from Trademark?

Trademarks are registered to the Ministry of Development through a specific procedure and is related to any manifestation of the sign (label, title, package, e-address)
Domain name is just the e-address and does not need a trademark to function. It is surely protected more efficiently if the associated trademark is registered.

3. Why do I need terms of use?

Terms of Use are essential to every website. They define the rights and obligation of both the user and the administrator of the website. Furthermore Terms of Use include the parts of Absence of liability and Privacy Policy.

4. When do I need to notify the Hellenic Data Protection Authority

When in your site you include members’ registration and ask for personal data during the process of registration. Personal data is any data that may lead to a user identity. This is decided upon users’ interest, so his/her name and surname and date of birth are personal data.

5. I run a site with advertisements, should I establish a company for it?

6. How do I ensure my copyright/intellectual property rights on software I’ve developed?
